Hands of the City  (2026)

Created by young people in Wolverhampton in collaboration with India Birtwistle, Hands of the City celebrates the everyday actions that connect us.
From shaking hands to crafting, working and supporting, each form captures a moment of care, creativity and belonging. Through painted 2D and 3D hands, the artwork reflects stories of community, culture and shared heritage. Together, these gestures form a collective portrait of Wolverhampton – diverse, connected and shaped by many voices.
Location:  The Way Youth Zone, School St, Wolverhampton, WV3 0NR
