Capturing a moment of creative becoming, Art and Design students from City of Wolverhampton College came together across three sessions with Wolverhampton artist Ewan Johnston, exploring who they are through mark-making and material. Using paint, charcoal and pencil, they were free to experiment, follow instinct, and let ideas take shape.
The self representing portraits move between realism and imagination. Each one tells a personal story of identity, connection and self-expression. Trusting creativity to lead the way, these works speak with confidence, curiosity and the courage to begin.
