A Glance Back Down The Hoss Road  (2025)

A Glance Back Down the Hoss Road is a collaborative artwork celebrating Wolverhampton’s layered history through four themes: Anglo-Saxon folklore, soft and hard industries and Art Deco design. Inspired by the city’s landmarks, architecture and heritage, the young people combined drawing, pen, paint and pencil to create a visual tapestry reflecting Wolverhampton’s past and spirit.

At the base, a flock of pigeons – familiar figures across the city’s façades and stone reliefs, anchors the work in everyday urban life. Playful yet symbolic, they echo Wolverhampton’s creativity, resilience and strong sense of community that continues to shape its identity today.

Location:  University of Wolverhampton, Millennium City Building, Stafford St, Wolverhampton, WV1 1LY
