Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture – Artists call out: Seeking Multi-disciplinary Artists for exciting project in Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton City of Youth Culture is a 3-year project of festivals, events, careers development and arts trails delivered by a partnership of cultural organisations. Co-created with young people, aiming to improve their self-esteem, resilience, and social skills and building a lasting platform for cultural activity.
Now in Year 2 of the project, we are seeking multi-disciplinary artist(s) with the ability to work across various art mediums to deliver workshops. The goal is to create a multi-disciplinary art piece that can be reproduced in 2D print form and feature on an arts trail around the city. The selected artist(s) will be local to Wolverhampton, have experience working directly with young people from diverse backgrounds, and will be responsible for facilitating up to 4 workshops between July – September 2025.
The workshops will bring together groups of young people to co-create a unique artwork. The artist will lead and inspire participants, helping them explore their creativity and shape a collective piece. Ideally, the artist will have experience contributing to arts trails, as the final work will need to align with three existing pieces already created for the trail.
In addition, the selected artist will have the opportunity to collaborate with a digital developer who will create a digital platform for the artwork to be augmented. This will provide an interactive and immersive experience for viewers of the arts trail. The artist will work closely with the digital developer to ensure the successful integration of their artwork into the digital platform.
To Apply:
To apply, please send a CV and a short covering letter (max 2 A4 pages) outlining your practice and experience delivering co-creation workshops with young people. Alternatively, you can submit a short video (up to 3 minutes).
