INSIDE VOICES PLS OPPORTUNITIES
We are looking for women around Wolverhampton to create some new writing with us AND an early career artist for our event ‘Inside Voices Pls!’, an evening of performances showcasing female identifying experience for International Women’s Month held at Wolverhampton Arts Centre to celebrate all things fem!
This project has been created, developed and produced by Al Gregory and Imogen Wood, two Black Country based theatre makers with a passion for highlighting fem voices and narratives.
WRITING PROJECT PARTICIPANTS:
We are looking for people to spend their Wednesday evenings over 6 weeks with us to create some new writing on the theme of female experience and ‘Resilience’. This is open to:
Anyone who identifies with the female experience (inclusive of trans/cis/non-binary)
Any age!
Any experience!
Those who just want to try something different throughout the cold months of winter and create something completely new and exciting
The sessions will be every Wednesday 5:30 – 7pm, 28th January – 11th March at Wolverhampton Arts Centre. We will be doing creative writing, poetry, discussion, use of music and movement. The sessions are completely FREE to attend and will be a lovely way to meet new people in the area and get creative.
If you have any questions please email Imogen at imogenhopewood@gmail.com
EARLY CAREER ARTIST:
We are looking for:
– applicants aged 16-25 years ONLY
– an interest/experience in the Performing Arts (spoken word, music and song, dance and movement, theatre etc.)
– applicants based in the West Midlands (a link to Wolverhampton would be great!)
– anyone who identifies with the female experience (including non-binary, trans, cis etc.).
The commission will be a rate of £200 for prep work and a short performance on the night. We are interested in the longevity of working with early career artists, therefore we are offering the successful applicant a mentorship programme with a creative mentor we will assign based on your artistic interest.
