Community Art Garden: lend us your green fingers!

Welcome to a unique opportunity at the Newhampton Arts Centre. We’re embarking on an exciting journey to transform our outdoor space into a vibrant Community Art Garden, and we need your help to make this vision come to life!

Our Community Art Garden will be more than just a garden; it’s a place for creativity, collaboration, and community. It’s a place where art meets nature, where community members can come together to create something beautiful and lasting.

Event Dates:

  • Saturday, August 12th, 11am – 4pm: Clearing and Building Day. Join us as we roll up our sleeves and prepare our canvas. We’ll be tidying up the outdoor space, clearing debris, and preparing the area for wall art and building benches. Don’t worry about the weather; we’ve got you covered! If it rains, we’ll move to the community room where you can enjoy tea, snacks, and indoor activities.

  • Saturday, August 19th, 11am – 4pm: Planting Day. It’s time to bring life to our garden! We’ll be planting a variety of planters and flower beds to add a splash of colour and life to the space. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll continue the fun indoors with snacks, tea, and more garden-related activities.

  • Sunday, August 27th, 11am – 4pm: Painting and Decorating Day. Let’s add some color to our community! We’ll be painting and decorating a map of Whitmore Reans in a tent, which will later be proudly displayed in the garden. We’ll also be making bunting and decorations, and finishing up any leftover planting.

Get Involved:

This is more than just a call for volunteers; it’s an invitation to be part of something meaningful. Come along, join us, and contribute your unique touch to our Community Art Garden. Whether you’re an experienced gardener, a budding artist, or just someone who loves their community, there’s a place for you here.

We can’t wait to see you there, and together, we’ll create something great for the community!
