Neon Dreams (2024)
Neon Dreams is a striking co-created artwork painted onto two large-scale canvases by a youth group in Wolverhampton who engaged with the Urban Rooms at Queen Square. The pieces showcase the unique perspectives of young people, aiming to highlight and celebrate youth culture across the city.
Blending vibrant neon colours with symbolic elements of nature – such as trees, flowers, stars, and the moon. The canvases capture the contrasting essence of day and night in Wolverhampton. These visual elements reflect the diverse aspects of youth identity and culture that shape the city’s young population. Neon Dreams expresses the dynamic spirit of Wolverhampton’s youth, lighting up the city with their vibrant cultural expression.
This artwork is part of a nine-piece Visual Arts Trail across Wolverhampton, co-created by young people and artists through hands-on workshops.
