It’s 1916, fishing trawlers are still putting out from Grimsby, despite the risk of German submarines. Bill Martin, captain of The King Stephen, comes back from one such fishing expedition a changed man. Something happened on that fishing trip that will change the course of his life and the lives of those around him. As events begin to spiral out of his control, Bill’s life unravels and his family search for the truth. Is their father a villain or a hero?
Written by Andy Alsop and based on a true story, this absorbing play explores the fallout from a split-second decision in time of war.
