In this workshop you will slow down and make a beautiful one of a kind, hand stitched charm from surplus and reclaimed fabrics, saving it from landfill and creating something meaningful.
Slow stitching is a mindful, process-led craft that uses simple hand sewing on fabric to focus entirely on the relaxing experience of creating rather than the finished product.
It is highly valued for its ability to reduce stress and anxiety, as the repetitive, rhythmic motion of pulling a needle through cloth naturally calms a busy mind and provides a grounding digital detox.
By operating without strict rules, patterns, or perfectionism, it embraces raw creativity and artistic freedom. Furthermore, slow stitching supports environmental sustainability by encouraging the upcycling of old clothing, fabric scraps, and vintage textiles, serving as a creative protest against fast fashion.
These sessions are open to people aged 14 and above but under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
All materials are provided, however, if you have a certain fabric, beads or embellishment’s you wish to use please bring them along.
