Six Week Classes for Adults (all abilities)

Sculpture Techniques 1 (6 weeks)
Relief Sculpture & Direct Plaster Sculpture £135.00 (includes materials)
On this six week course of you will be introduced to a range of sculpture materials and processes.
You will make two sculptures – a Relief Sculpture modelled in clay and cast in plaster and a freestanding Abstract Sculpture using the direct plaster method.
You will learn how to make simple waste moulds and casts, basic clay modelling methods, how to make armatures for sculpture and how to work directly using plaster of Paris.
Monday Evening 7pm-9.00pm
4th August – 15th September (excluding bank holiday 25th Aug)

Sculpture Techniques 2 (6 weeks)
The Human Torso & Carved Sculpture (six weeks) £135.00 (includes materials)
This course builds on skills covered in Sculpture Techniques 1 and introduces some new techniques and processes.
You will make two sculptures – a Human Torso sculpture, modelled in clay and cast in plaster and a freestanding Carved Sculpture worked from a modelled wax maquette.
You will learn observational modelling in clay, how to make a two piece waste mould and cast, the process of carving and a variety of colouring and finishing techniques.

Workshops for Children

Sculpture Workshop for Children no1 (ages 8-16) £20.00
Relief Sculpture (Model Mould & Cast)
The workshop uses the process of mould making and casting as a means of exploring creativity. Participants will produce original designs in clay by pressing a range of found or discarded objects into a bed of clay. Designs are then moulded and cast in plaster of Paris.

Sculpture Workshop for Children no2 (ages 8-16) £20.00
Abstract Sculptures
In this workshop participants will construct a sculpture using upcycled cardboard and polystyrene, together with plaster bandage (Mod-Roc) to create their own abstract sculpture, inspired by artists like Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and others.
