Boomslang is a hugely exciting UK based jazz fusion band renowned for its uniquely interactive approach to the genre – getting our new series of gigs featuring Royal Birmingham Conservatoire students off to an explosive start!

Led by their Stourbridge-rooted bassist, Kyle Welch, the full-on, eclectic group incorporates aspects of drum & bass and hard rock into their compositions; as well as utilising electronic instruments, notably through Nat Evans – seen, memorably, at Wolverhampton Arts Centre Café Spotlight gigs with Thomas Marsh and Nat2 – on EWI (electronic wind instrument, as deployed by Soweto Kinch in our theatre gig with Shivraj Singh in 2023).

Also featuring Ollie Canham (guitar, seen here with Christian KC and Sophie Gilbert), Nathan Thomas (piano, keyboards) and Dom Holyoake (drums), their music is akin to the likes of Tribal Tech, Chick Corea Elektric Band and Squarepusher. Prepare to be amazed!
